Chaga Anti-inflammatory Smoothie

Chaga - it puts up with a lot.

As it only grows in the arctic circle, it has to contend with months of the year in freezing temperatures and then months of baking heat and the whole time, the tree on which it lives is trying its darndest to kill it. For this reason it conjures up a shit ton of phytonutrients to protect itself. From the pigment melanin and the antioxidants SOD and zinc to the anti-inflammatory triterpenes - chaga certainly is a real powerhouse of the fungal future. Used traditionally for gut and immune health, modern science is now backing up what ancient Eastern and Northern Europeans knew. It brings the goods.

This smoothie recipe draws in the antioxidant magic of chaga with the alkalising minerals from kale and beetroot, vitamin C from the oranges for collagen synthesis, anti-inflammatory and circulation boosting ginger alongside omega 3 rich hemp seed oil. Get into it my creaky peeps.
