Calming Reishi Smoothie

Reishi - the mushroom of immortality.

This saprophyte has so many benefits - for immunity, for liver function and for spiritual practises. Many people throughout history have noted that it appears to calm the spirit and support a restful sleep and new research is showing that it does indeed appear to support a healthy balanced outlook and sleep cycle. So may be kind of helpful for those of us that tend to err on the highly strung side of life!

This black forest smoothie brings together the calming actions of reishi alongside stimulating but relaxing dark chocolate , highly antioxidant ( and melatonin rich) dark cherry juice and berries for a beautiful morning smoothie to start off the day on the right ( calm) foot.

RECIPE - Makes 2 cups

  • 1.5 cups almond or oat mylk

  • 50g of dark chocolate

  • 50ml cherry juice

  • 1 handful of raspberries

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder

  • 1 teaspoon Reishi Extract

Blend and serve
